This sf novel is very cleverly designed

The mission of the Walt Disney Spaceship is to find a habitable planet and colonize it, reporting back to Earth periodically on their failures and their final success. They land on the planet they name Mandala in galaxy light years from Earth and in the one hundred and fifty years they have lived on it; they have put their mark on the planet. Even their religion is based on the writings of the captain of the spaceship, a combination of science and theology.

Earth has been notified of the colonizing of Mandala and with the new technology that has been developed 33,000 colonists who have been cryogenically sleeping are about to orbit the planet. The Prime Minister of Mandala fears that the colonists will be a threat to his regime. He goes to the spaceship with a few of his allies and kills off all but one of the crew. He plans to murder all the new colonists with only nine year old deaf mute Drew Randall, who has a direct pipeline to someone or something calling himself God, in his way.

Fans of space opera, political intrigue and precocious little heroes will thoroughly enjoy reading DIVINE INTERVENTION. It's fascinating to read about a group of people who colonized a world according to their own collective needs and beliefs. Readers will believe that author Ken Wharton actually visited his planet and has written about events he witnessed.

A Great Fast-Paced Adventure

With his ability to plot several lines of thought and combine them with adventure, laugh, curiosity and suspense, "Divine Intervention" is no doubt a delight for the science fiction reader.
The author throws you into the scene right from the start. With no blabber in even one single page, and with the ability to provide new ideas and many twists along the story, the book is a great escape into a new surrounding and technology.
The scientific background of the author spices the story with hard sci-fi elements while human drama and spiritualism are kept an integral part through out the book. The writing style is very clear and intriguing. It is definitely a fast-paced adventure that keeps you awake into the night.
Highly recommended!

Fascinating, entertaining and mind expanding hard SF

"Divine Intervention" is one of the most fascinating novels I have read in the past few months. It successfully takes a hard science fiction story and incorporates unique ideas on physics, interstellar colinization, religion and politics into an entertaining blend. The tension between the "Burnout Kingdoms" and the mainstream society of Mandala really makes the story work well. And the twist of Drew Randall, a young deaf-mute, communicating with "God" is quite intriguing.

Very original and highly recommended.

While the topic an be a bit dry and technical to a novice like me, I recognize that the author still did a good job in making the concepts understandable and engaging (as much as possible). I've read other related books and taken statistics, and generally the texts are more difficult and boring to read. Rachel Glennerster also has a blog based around the book, with online resources that I find interesting.

Great Book, pretty easy to read

Just got my book . Great Book, pretty easy to read. The quality of the printing and the paper is so much higher than the 5th edition which was published in 2002.

But the quality of binding is terrible. After 3 days of reading the pages almost fell off. Hence a 4 stars.

This book would have gotten 5 stars, had it not been for the fact that the print is smeared and continues to do so. I suggest you use a better printing company. Would I recommend it to another? I sure would, if you can improve the printing issue. I will add photos of the smeared pint later.

Terrible book

This book is almost like a dictionary. It throws a million terms at you and has less supplemental information to actually help you comprehend research. I bought it for a class, but I really wish I would've saved my money. I seriously couldn't bear to read it, even when I had a test the night before. I just reviewed the terms in it and went to bed.

Strong female MC and HOT, intriguing male MC.. Really good, fast moving & interesting

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. So here we go... Having read Ms Kell's very first novel, H.I.S. Desire, which happens to be the first book in this related series, I was both interested and intrigued to see how she would fare in her second endeavor. I really liked the first book, a lot. I am happy to say she has grown even more as a writer with this one. A.J. is an interesting and humanly flawed sexy man that you just want to reach out and grab hold of, while Megan is a feisty, strong woman who, sometimes blindly, follows her convictions with strength and courage. There is passion, drama, suspense, hotness! and a sense of family that make it easy to relate to these characters and understand some of their choices. This is a fast paced story with several layers and I really enjoyed it. While each of these books is a stand alone novel, the characters recur and their personalities and relationships begin to build. I am already waiting for the next one!

Sheila Kell you've done it again!
HIS Choice is the second book in the HIS Series.

We were introduced to AJ Hamilton in the first book of the HIS series. AJ was working for the FBI back then, now he's gone rogue. He's keeping company with unscrupulous characters and working for Baltimore's largest crime boss the Magician. Drugs, money laundering, and deeds done under the cover of darkness is where his life has spiraled to. Being the baby of five brother's he's out to prove himself. But will his actions take him past the point of no return?
Sent out to be part of a shakedown he unexpectantly bumps into Megan.

Megan Rodgers is a reporter for The Baltimore News First newspaper. Her brother Kevin is missing. He was trying to expose The Magician's gang, Magic Shop. Megan knows The Magician is behind her brother's disappearance and, although she doesn't want to admit it, his possible murder. She becomes obsessed with finding out what's happened to Kevin and she uses her investigative resources to expose the Magician. Megan's spying on Magic Shop doesn't go unnoticed and The Magician sends AJ to threaten the nosy reporter.

When AJ fronts up at Megan's home to threaten the young reporter, it's not just Megan that gets the surprise of her life. With his warning made clear AJ leaves, but Megan continues to dig into the underworld determined to expose the crime boss. What she witnesses will not only expose The Magician but will also sign her death warrant if the truth is revealed.

I loved this book. It has a great storyline and strong characters. Sheila Kell has accomplished a credible sequel. This book has it all. From mystery and suspense to heated encounters if you love your men hot and your encounters steamy this book is a must for you.

This is book two in the H.I.S series. While it helps to have read book one, its not necessary, it just gives you a little more background.

THIS WAS A BETA REVIEW.

AJ is working as an enforcer for The Magician, Baltimore's biggest crime boss. When instructed to scare Megan into stop writing about the boss in her newspaper, he never knew just how much his life would change. Assuming, of course, they both have a life to change after going on the run from both the Magician AND the law!

I found this a much better read than H.I.S Desire, which is book one. The story flowed well, the characters believabel and easy to connect with, even that nasty woman! The twists and turns that I did not see coming are what made this book.

I didn't get who the Magician was til it was revealed. I had some ideas, but that particular one was pushed to the side early one! What AJ was up to wasn't immediately obvious and it took some time before that penny dropped, let me tell you!

All of the reasons I gave book one 4 stars have been corrected. Ms Kell's skill is growing and it is showing in her work. There are refereneces to book one, and some laying down of furture books, Jake's especailly. And I look forward to that!

This book is a good general introduction into the world of hackathons. Having won several competitions, The author is able to speak from experience . He goes over things to do and not to do in preparing for, coding, and presenting at the event. If you are looking to get into and compete at hackathons, this quick read is a good start.

Born over half a century ago in a large, middle class family, the youngest of 7 siblings in an under-developed, so-called 3rd World country, the author struggled his way through challenges each day. Wearing hand-me-downs through school with more patches than on a corn on the cob, the author managed to create his niche and come out on top in ways more than one.

Yes, he did also see a fair share of adversities and that would make you wonder how human life has long been treated in India vis-�-vis developed countries.

Here's a book that shows how to make marmalade out of lemons.

Purchased via Amazon.co.uk Mr Bharat Mathur has published a totally unique book, the like of which I have not seen before. The author has taken what may seem like common good advice and do-well proverbs, but used them in such a way as to show you the best intentions behind that advice, in order to lead you towards a more positive attitude and with it a more successful life style.
For example, quoting Mr Royce (of RR fame) "If you can't make it better then redesign it", and what to we get? a Silver Shadow or a Phantom.
There are gently but timely reminders on good business sense to improve your status among your clients ie focus on customers needs (one satisfied customer brings ten, whereas one dissatisfied will take away a hundred). We all know it, but sometimes forget in our rush through life.

My personal favorites are the reminders to "dare to dream", with numerous fascinating examples. I hope the author will forgive me if I quote verbatim, from my own personal hero T. E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence of Arabia, “All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find it a vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they act their dreams with wide open eyes to make it possible.”

The author's advice will stand up to any scrutiny. Be a giver not a taker and go the extra mile in business, who will argue with this, with excellent examples of how this advice will actually help you if you stop and remind yourself of them. Mr Mathur then moves onto his 12 steps to success which I would strongly advise to read. This is a fascinating book, and the author's description of his own life and success does himself proud without for a moment seeming to brag. Described only as demonstrations of his advice in practice of which I most whole heatedly agree. A wonderful book Mr Mathur.
A reminder to self: Life is not a fierce competition where you must defeat all others in order to succeed.

A must-read for anyone who wants to follow their passion and achieve more in life!

I truly enjoyed reading this uplifting book, and I especially liked the chapter on the 8 Ps: Perfection in Performance Prepares Path to Productivity and Provides Personal Pride! Today we are flooded with information about how we shouldn’t dream or reach for more, and how perfection is an awful thing! But without reaching for perfection, what else is there to reach for?

I enjoyed the author’s perspective about having to let go of mediocrity and public opinions and moving forward, at our individual pace, toward the perfection we find meaningful! In this journey, as the author describes, we will have to let go of our so called friends who like to gossip, to stay true to our real friends, and to spend our time perfecting our skills for greater success! What a wonderful way to see ourselves, the world, and others!

I agree with the advice on TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More, and I enjoyed answering the author question on when, where, and why I, the reader, was born.

The entire book is so empowering, uplifting, and speaks to our deeper understanding that we are here to succeed and to live happy, fulfilled lives, and the author is showing us the way to do so, easily, based on his years of experience and expertise! I also really enjoyed that the author encourages us to see him as a wise friend here to assist us, and not some far away guru teaching us things that will take us decades to learn! I really liked the down to earth tone in this book and that the author’s true belief in our ability as human beings to succeed in our individual lives shines through!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants more in life, who wants to achieve their dreams, follow their passion, and not spend years of experience learning what they can learn by reading the wise words in this book!

Be More. Achieve More. Your True Worth is More Than You Realize. Realize it.

Why are you here? That is the real question. It is the question everyone should ponder and answer. It is also fitting regarding this book. Why are you here, looking, trying to decide whether or not to purchase this book? You are obviously here because you are looking for a better life. You are looking to be more than you are. This is one of the most powerful books I have read in a long time. I can't really find a way to recommend this book more highly than to say go purchase it right now. If you don't get and read this book, you really aren't serious about improving your life. I say, you are reading this review because you want more from life. You want to be successful. OK. You are in the right place. So, go ahead and get it and read it. You are not going to be disappointed. Listen to what the author, Bharat Mathur, is telling you. Do what he says. Pay attention to the 8 Ps: Perfection in Performance Prepares Path to Productivity and Provides Personal Pride. Pay attention to the steps to improvement he provides for you to follow and do it. It is a very well written book and doesn't take long to read because once you start, you won't stop until you get to the end, which really isn't the end. It is just the beginning. Go purchase this book now. Answer the question: When, where and why was I born? If you are truly serious about success, allow him to "pull" you to that success. If you don't read this book, you don't really have a problem remaining in your current situation. Is your current situation sufficient? I think not. Don't resist. Be pulled to your true worth.
