Healing Fibroids: A Doctor's Guide to a Natural Cure, by Allan Warshowsky

An exciting new approach to regaining health without surgery!

Fact: By the time they reach menopause forty percent of American women have at least one uterine fibroid; 600,000 women are diagnosed each year.
Fact: Fibroids are the leading cause of hysterectomy, the second most common surgical procedure performed on women.
Fact: Natural, holistic medicine can heal fibroids without invasive surgery.

Fibroid tumors, while usually benign, can swell a woman's uterus to the size of a basketball, frequently causing heavy menstrual bleeding, cramping, bladder infections, and even infertility. Most doctors recommend surgery as the only answer. Now this innovative holistic program brings new hope for a surgery-free life to millions of American women.

Dr. Allan Warshowsky combines traditional Western medicine and holistic science to cure not just the fibroid condition but also the underlying imbalances and systemic dysfunctions that can cause fibroids. With an exciting program of diet, exercise, supplements, herbs, and mind/spirit work, Dr. Warshowsky shows fibroid sufferers how to become the strong, healthy women they deserve to be.

From Library Journal
Also called myomas, fibromyomas, or leiomyomas, fibroids develop from a single smooth muscle cell in the uterus and vary in size and shape. They affect as many as 80 percent of women, of whom one in four will have symptoms serious enough to cause her to seek medical advice and treatment. These two practical, easy-to-read guides offer information on the different types of fibroids and the options for treating them. In Healing Fibroids, Warshowsky, a practicing obstetrician/ gynecologist and director of the Women's Program at Beth Israel Hospital's Center for Health and Healing in New York, and Oumano, a certified yoga teacher and bodywork practitioner, combine Western medicine and holistic methods to point the way to optimal health and the avoidance of surgery. After a brief look at surgical procedures and the relationship of hormones and the menstrual cycle to fibroids, they devote chapters to diet, supplements, herbal remedies, exercise, emotional healing, and the effects of environmental toxins, especially xenoestrogens. Skilling, a marketing executive and writer in New York, wrote her first book, Fibroids: The Complete Guide to Taking Charge of Your Physical, Emotional and Sexual Well-Being, when she was first diagnosed with fibroids and could find little information on the subject. She also explores the role of diet, exercise, and emotional well-being in managing fibroids. Arranged by day for the first week after diagnosis, by week for the first month, and by month for the remaining 11 months, the chapters are each divided into two sections, called "Living" and "Learning." The "Living" sections deal with issues and problems, while the "Learning" sections explain the more technical aspects of fibroids. Skilling provides practical tips, such as how to chart the growth of the fibroid and what to wear when you leave the hospital should you need surgery. Readers will find information on current research and medication, the pros and cons of various types of surgery, and hints on diet and lifestyle changes, including exercise and stress management. While both guides are useful, Skilling's arrangement is superior. Her table of contents provides good access points, and the glossary, selected resources, and list of bibliographic references are a definite plus. If you have the budget, get both; but if you have to choose, buy Skilling's. Jodith Janes, Cleveland Clinic Fdn. Lib.

Exactly what I was looking for -- hysterectomy isn't the only answer
By K8
I'm just starting my journey of dealing with a large fibroid that is beginning to cause other problems, and am not at all open to the idea of hysterectomy. I know in my heart that that would just open the door to other (lifelong) issues, and I'm determined to exhaust the natural path before I go down the surgical/pharmaceutical one. It seems like common sense to me that many medical conditions can be healed naturally by bringing the body back into balance so that it can do what it was designed to do in the first place. That requires understanding how the body got out of balance to begin with. This book addresses all of these ideas head-on.

I knew this book was for me when near the front I read, "...a fibroid condition can become a life-enhancing opportunity." Yes, that is exactly what I was looking for -- a book that looks at the whole picture of health -- physically, emotionally, energetically -- and gives concrete ways, in all areas of your life, that you can start to take responsibility for your own healing and overall health. Again, I believe the word balance is the key. When it comes to the way the body functions, there are tipping points in both directions. Lots of little things you do can add up to bad health -- but it works in the other direction, too, where removing all those little things can tip the other way into good health.

The book starts with a layman's medical overview of how these types of gynecological problems arise in the first place. Then it moves into a thorough discourse on all the areas you can review in your own body and life, so that you can begin working to reduce fibroid aggravators and promote healing -- through diet, supplements, herbs, stretching, exercise, meditation, reducing stress, avoiding environmental toxins, etc. Dr. Warshowsky's writing style makes everything very easy to comprehend. I especially appreciated the "case studies" that are interspersed throughout the book, as they seem to cover all the various scenarios for all the different women out there suffering from fibroids -- young, old, fit/active, overweight/out of shape, single/no kids, married/mothers, extreme symptoms, mild symptoms.

It can be pretty overwhelming when things start to go wrong with your body, and it's definitely a shock to hear your doctor say, "it's time to start thinking about a hysterectomy." Something in you immediately starts to believe it right away, and before you know it, you're resigned to that being your only path. But the fact is, unless and until it's a medical emergency, there are many areas that you yourself can work on, little by little, to start swinging the balance back into your favor. Doctors do the best they can to guide you, given the information they have -- but they really only ever get a snapshot of what's really going on with you. You are the only one who actually lives your life day to day and knows your body best, and it really is a matter of being determined enough to accept the responsibility for your own health and start walking the path that's right for you.

Making changes to your diet is a good first step that you can take charge of right away. In my own case, even though I already had a really good diet (lots of organic foods, low-fat, etc.), I had the feeling that I was indulging in things that were causing a lot of general inflammation. My fibroid symptoms were such that I felt I had to take a big step right away, so I cut out many things at once -- sugar, coffee, gluten, dairy, meat, alcohol. I know that sounds drastic, but I figured I could do it for a month and see what happened. I focused on high-fiber foods, lots of fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, fish, eggs, etc. I also started taking various supplements -- boosting basic vitamins like B, C, D, E. This was all under the guidance of a doctor. Within a month I started feeling SO much better, which strengthened my determination to stay on this path. I then found this book and it has confirmed a lot of what my intuition was already telling me. It has been the perfect resource to now start taking further steps into the other areas where I can work to shift and keep the balance in my favor. This book will help you to take the reins on your own journey to good health!

This book was very helpful in understanding what fibroids are and my options. When I went to my GYN I was very educated and they were not able to scare me into some procedure. All women should learn about their bodies, healthy or unhealthy.Remember doctors are running a business, you are running your life!

Answer to a Nightmare
By S. Willis
This book fully addressed my symptoms, causes and treatment. I felt so empowered after reading this book. My Dr. suggested that I have my uterus removed, but the information supplied gave me the alternatives I needed. I have to live with this problem and the treatment, so I was able to chose the method that I could best live with. My fibroids are huge 9.4cm, 7.1cm & 7.3cm, but I'm following the advise listed and have had success. Thank you so much for this wonderful publication. As a black women, fibroids run in my family. I'm so happy to be the one to help the younger ones know how to avoid suffering what I'm going through, and assist the older family members on how to cope/shrink them.

Tonight the Streets Are Ours: A Novel, by Leila Sales

Recklessly loyal. That's how seventeen-year-old Arden Huntley has always thought of herself. Taking care of her loved ones is what gives Arden purpose in her life and makes her feel like she matters. But lately she's grown resentful of everyone--including her needy best friend and her absent mom--taking her loyalty for granted.

Then Arden stumbles upon a website called Tonight the Streets Are Ours, the musings of a young New York City writer named Peter, who gives voice to feelings that Arden has never known how to express. He seems to get her in a way that no one else does, and he hasn't even met her.
Until Arden sets out on a road trip to find him.

During one crazy night out in New York City filled with parties, dancing, and music--the type of night when anything can happen, and nearly everything does--Arden discovers that Peter isn't exactly who she thought he was. And maybe she isn't exactly who she thought she was, either.

From School Library Journal
Gr 7 Up—The author taps into the anxiety, insecurity, and hurt that people experience when they think that they are giving more love than they receive. Arden Huntley's nave understanding of relationships partially comes from her mother, who taught her in word and by example that one person always takes care of the other as a gardener nurtures flowers. Arden fully believes this theory and has built an identity around it: she is "recklessly loyal." She reaches a breaking point when she starts to feel that her love and support are underappreciated, especially by her boyfriend and her best friend. Seeking solace online, Arden discovers "Tonight the Streets Are Ours," a blog written by a guy named Peter in New York City. The teen not only finds comfort in Peter's writing, but begins to feel invested in his life and happiness. Sales understands the intense bond that readers can have with bloggers and she uses this to propel Arden into a transformative road trip to find Peter. Some readers, particularly those touched by adoption, may find themselves taken out of the story when they are introduced to a character with an unusual backstory: a white boy who was adopted by Asian American parents. However, there's no acknowledgement of how unique and against expectations it is. It's unclear how this creative decision serves the plot or characters and given that it occurs during a pivotal moment in the book, it's worth noting. VERDICT Teens who enjoy books about the balance of friendship with individual identity formation will find much to think about in this novel.—Joy Piedmont, LREI, New York City

By Nicole Hewitt
Tonight the Streets Are Ours is a story about breaking boundaries and discovering who you are apart from other people. The plot follows Arden who is, as the synopsis states, recklessly loyal – so she was dubbed by the doll company that made a doll out of her when she was a child, and she’s let that definition define her throughout her whole life. Arden believes it is her responsibility to take care of the people she loves, which is a wonderful goal, of course, but she does it to the exclusion of everything else, including taking care of herself. She has a best friend who she met because she made a huge sacrifice for her when she was a child (you’ll find out about that when you find out about the doll) and who she has been sacrificing for and watching out for ever since. She also has a boyfriend who she supports in all of his endeavors. And it’s especially important to take care of everyone right now because her endlessly mother just suddenly left without a backward glance and moved three hundred miles away. Arden copes by reading a blog called “Tonight the Streets Are Ours,” written by a boy about her age who she feels like she connects with more than anyone she knows in real life. When everything in both of their lives seems to go awry, she seeks him out, hoping she’ll find something she’s been missing.

What fed my addiction:

Family matters.
The situation with Arden’s family is complicated. Her mom disappeared after always focusing solely on her family, and Arden is so angry that she won’t talk to her. In the meantime, her dad has thrown himself into his work, barely paying any attention at all to her and her eleven-year-old brother. Arden feels like she has to pick up the pieces and be the one to hold things together, especially for her little brother. It does not always go well. I liked the concept of the family issues, but I wasn’t that fond of where it all went – I’ll talk about that in the next section, though.

Learning independence.
The funny thing is that while Arden has always felt like she’s taking care of other people, she’s actually very dependent on all of those people – her life revolves around them and she does very little thinking for herself. Arden doesn’t know who she is apart from her best friend and her boyfriend and her family – and she may not be anyone at all. After all, the defining characteristic of her life has always been that she is recklessly loyal – and she strives to live up to that title. Through Arden’s time in NYC, she learns a few things – first of all,, people are not always who you think you are or you’ve defined them to be. And second of all, that she doesn’t have to live a recklessly loyal life – it’s okay to let go sometimes.

The Peter storyline.
Arden doesn’t actually head to NYC to find Peter until relatively late in the book. Maybe if it had happened sooner, I would have liked the book more because I really liked the storyline that involved him. That’s not to say that I actually liked what was happening, because it was very messed up and strange, but it made for an extremely interesting story and I loved the lessons that Arden learned from the whole situation.

What left me wanting more:

Arden herself.
The real problem with this book is that Arden herself is hard to like. She goes through life feeling like she has to fix everyone or watch over them, which automatically leads to a feeling of superiority and that air of superiority starts to get old as the book goes on. I was actually fine with it for the first half of the book or so – I understood why she felt that way and how she had ended up going down that path. I could even see how some of the people in her life really did kind of mess things up when left to their own devices, so it was understandable why Arden felt like she had to police them. But, by midway over the book, I was over it. I was especially frustrated by the way she treated Lindsey – like she was a child who couldn’t do anything right. Even when Lindsey was trying hard to be helpful, Arden was too busy putting her down to notice it. So, yeah, great best friend material. And Arden did kind of learn her lesson about this in the end – but by that time, I was already too frustrated with her to see it as a huge win.

Arden’s mother.
This really made me mad. The implication was that Arden’s mother had been taking care of everyone for so long that she needed to take herself out of the situation in order to fix her own issues. And I get that, I do. I’m a stay-at-home mom who homeschools two of my three kids. My youngest son is adopted and has special needs, and I started homeschooling my older two when my oldest had so many issues at school that it was becoming nightmarish. I get it – putting yourself aside for your kids is hard and frustrating and sometimes overwhelming. Although, honestly, she had two super well-behaved kids who never caused any problems – her biggest issue was the fact that she did a lot for them and no one seemed grateful enough. So she left. Packed her bags and moved three hundred miles away. Sure, she called occasionally, but I had a hard time sympathizing with her. As a mom, I understand the urge to get away – I understand that she needed space, but I don’t understand punishing your kids for the fact that you have issues and completely removing yourself from their lives. Unless you’re a danger to them or your presence is somehow hurting their well-being, in my opinion, that’s never okay.

So, while I liked aspects of this book, an unlikable main character eventually got to me. I still appreciated the overall message of letting go and learning to be yourself without other people, but the journey there wasn’t always fun. I give this book 3/5 stars.

An Absolutely Breathtaking Story
By Brendan Sullivan
Our online personas seem to be an extension of our lives. But do they even begin to tell the truth?

Like the main character of this book, I feel it necessary to note that I was reading Leila Sales when SHE was just a blogger. I enjoyed her debut of Mostly Good Girls Mostly Good Girls and our course I loved watching her voice develop in This Song Will Save Your Life. Tonight the Streets Are Ours is Sales' masterwork when you consider how advanced it is in terms of the story. Sales' carefully crafted sentences have always ended with a knockout. In TTSAO she brings that craft to the chapters. Every time you think you know what will happen next you find an unexpected twist that hooks you in.

While this story is about many things--music, loneliness, finding yourself, friendship, romance--in the end it is about the stories we tell ourselves. And how we're so often telling the wrong story. Arden always thinks of herself as "recklessly loyal" as if a person can't have another storyline. Lindsey has been a screwup for so long that she hasn't bothered to take responsibility for anything in ages. Readers of any age will enjoy the family dynamics, the nights out with friends and, most importantly, the incredible journey.

It is also a testament to the good friends--the ones we have and the ones we make along the way--and if you ever find yourself alone in this world, this book will keep you company until you find your next adventure.

The story we tell versus the people we are
By Deb Nam-Krane
Arden (ardent?) is seventeen years old and has spent most of her life following her mother's example that happiness comes from being there for other people, and the person she's been there for the most is her best friend Lindsey, who not only can't get out of her own way, but doesn't seem to realize when she's in it. The story opens with Arden taking the blame for Lindsey's marijuana, but Arden has been giving things to Lindsey since they first met, including a coveted trip to Disneyland. Arden is so codependent that even her mother's sudden blow up and departure over not being appreciated doesn't tip her off that she might want to reconsider her choices.

Arden knows she's unhappy, and one night she types her question to the universe into Google's search engine: and gets an answer in the form of the blog "Tonight the Streets Are Ours". She becomes obsessed with it's author Peter and his story, and when her boyfriend Chris disappoints her, she and Lindsey drive from Virginia to New York City to track Peter down- and then the real fun begins as Arden discovers that what people do says a lot more about who they are than the story they tell everyone (and themselves).

Sales made me feel Arden's desperation to be helpful and be loved, and even if the reader could guess the beats to the story before they were revealed, it made sense that Arden (and Lindsey and Peter) wouldn't; they're not clueless, but they are so earnestly attached to their own philosophies about life and happiness that they have blinders on to everything else going on around them. Bianca, the object of Peter's affection and obsession, is the one who seems most in touch with reality, but that understanding comes at a terrible price.

I would recommend this book to fans of realistic young adult fiction.

Dying for Heaven: Holy Pleasure and Suicide Bombers-Why the Best Qualities of Religion Are Also Its Most Dangerous, by Ariel Glucklich

In Dying for Heaven, Georgetown scholar and advisor to the defense community Ariel Glucklich explains the religious motivation of terrorism. This provocative work of political science argues that the very best qualities of religion—its ability to make people feel good and bring them together—are in fact its most dangerous. Glucklich, author of Sacred Pain and Climbing Chamundi Hill, offers a new understanding of religion and provides a vision for preventing further religiously-inspired violence.

From Booklist
*Starred Review* In this provocative book, theologian Glucklich tries to understand one of the most unsettling and disturbing behavioral trends of our time. What makes suicide bombers tick? he asks. To answer, he examines the impetus behind religion (why be religious?) and explains what happens when religious feelings lead to self-destruction. Throughout, he maintains that it is crucial that society take religion seriously—that is, to take a scientific approach to it—and avoid oversimplification, especially when it comes to vilifying that which we don’t understand. He notes that, with the possible exceptions of certain European countries, religious activity is on the rise around the world, a development he attributes to religion’s tendencies not only to make people feel happier but to give them purpose and a sense of belonging. In a nutshell, “Religion makes us feel good.” Unfortunately, religious pleasure and spiritual devotion sometimes lead to bloodshed. So Glucklich discusses the destructive aspects of religion; that is, the various theories of the pleasure of group behavior and its consequences, and the surprisingly close linkage between heaven and violence. An important and enlightening book for a dangerous age. --June Sawyers

Review
In Dying for Heaven, Ariel Glucklich argues against the misconception that religious terrorists fight their enemies out of hatred. Rather, it is the positive aspects of religion that inspire the most heinous actions. (Washington Post.com)

“An important and enlightening book for a dangerous age.” (Booklist (starred review))

“Extremely well written, and at times quite funny, this book is an absolute necessity for a public seeking to understand religious nuance and zealotry; it deserves careful attention and a broad readership. Highly recommended.” (Library Journal)

“This brilliant and gracefully written study sheds new light on religious behavior . . . Rich with examples and scholarly detail, this study should be read by policymakers, social scientists, and anyone fascinated with what lies behind the awesome power of religious faith.” (Mark Juergensmeyer, author of Terror in the Mind of God: The Global Rise of Religious Violence)

“A new and major treatise on what it takes to become a suicide bomber and what it takes to counter it. Glucklich combines religion, terrorism, hope and despair in a breathtaking and highly readable manner.” (Ahmed Rashid, author of Taliban and Jihad)

“Ariel Glucklich’s Dying for Heaven offers a provocative explanation of religion and terrorism based on a Darwinian approach. Although not all readers will embrace this analysis, it provides absorbing food for thought and a surprisingly attractive solution for the problem it addresses.” (Carl W. Ernst, the William R. Kenan, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill)

“[Dying for Heaven] is more than 300 pages of gripping analysis about the inner motivations—the high-octane rocket fuel—within religion.” (Read the Spirit.com)

From the Back Cover

Why do terrorists do what they do? Not only are religiously motivated terrorists willing to self-destruct to achieve their goals, but neither threats nor incentives consistently prevent their devastating acts. Compounding this is the fact that soon extremist nations and terrorist groups in the Middle East and Asia will have nuclear weapons and may be driven by religion to use them. Is nuclear terror inevitable or can it be prevented?

Ariel Glucklich, Georgetown professor of religion and advisor to the U.S. defense community, reveals the fallacy of our country's three major assumptions about the motivations that lie behind terrorism:

  • that religious terrorists are acting out of hatred for us,
  • that belief in paradise is the chief factor in their willingness to die for their cause, and
  • that religious extremism is always irrational.

The astonishing reality Glucklich reveals is that these radicals

  • sincerely believe they are motivated by love,
  • actually are attempting to fight internal enemies or “heretics” within their own societies, and
  • desire fame and honor in the here and now, rather than a promised afterlife in heaven.

Dying for Heaven offers a groundbreaking theory of religion and religious destructiveness; the book examines the motivations fueling those who perpetrate religious violence around the globe—from Al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorists to violent Hindu nationalists, from Jewish-Zionist fundamentalists in Israel to leaders in Iran's race for nuclear weapons, and to Christian messianic defenders of American power. The continuing rise of religion as a global force and the proliferation of nuclear weapons create a unique challenge for policy advisors, who now must understand how far religious extremists will go toward nuclear annihilation. Dying for Heaven provides the key for understanding the religious drive to self-destruct and offers ways to combat the culture of suicide terrorism.

A Provocative Look at the Spiritual Fuel Driving Saints and Suicide Bombers
By David Crumm
I'm giving this book 5 stars because Dr. Ariel Glucklich's work is substantial and his book is trying to open a new door in our analysis of what's driving suicide bombers. There may be some confusion about the book itself, because the cover and title may lead readers to expect that it's 300 pages of case studies from bombers' lives.

That's not the case.

The bulk of this book is about the nature of the spiritual fuel itself, which takes us from the lives of saints to scriptures to lines of poetry to psychological analysis to the inner workings of religious ecstasy to suicide bombers eventually.

Dr. Glucklich is a highly respected scholar in religion, psychology and anthropology and one of his major areas of research involves the troubling forms of religious expression that are self destructive.

That may seem like a strange area of expertise--but it's actually extremely important. As a journalist for more than 30 years, I've covered stories around the world about disastrously destructive human behavior. Some years ago, for example, the world was stunned by the Japanese sect that released poison gas in subways. Later, when documentary films were released of the sect's followers, it was confounding to find these people still so kindly and simply trying to follow remaining spiritual practices of this deadly group--even after the founder was in prison. If you're curious, Amazon sells the documentaries: A

Our tendency is to react to suicide attacks, like this example in Japan, as evidence the attackers are crazy and their actions have nothing to do with "real" religion. Rather, Dr. Glucklich shows that their inner fuel, their point of departure from true religion into these tragically destructive ends, really is the same fuel that produces the great saints, for example.

This actually is good, constructive news, because--if his analysis proves to be true long term--then it can lead to interventions to prevent this wonderfully noble spiritual energy from jumping the tracks at some point and aiming itself at violent ends.

I strongly recommend the book and suggest small groups discuss its findings. Remember, though, mostly the book is an examination of this spiritual fuel down through history and various forms of religious expressions. It's fascinating and provocative. You'll have no shortage of discussion in your group.

Something went quite wrong in the presentation here...
By William E. Adams
Mark Twain famously said "Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand." Professor Glucklich seems to agree with him, although he did not use the quote. From page 274-289 this book presents an interesting argument that Islamic suicide terrorism can be largely eliminated when the general Muslim culture decides to poke fun at the perpetrators. At present, these societies elevate the murderous martyrs, something that Christianity and Judaism have outgrown. However, honoring the self-destructive in the larger society is only part of the problem. A more complicated aspect is the "happiness" one gets from literally giving "all" to God. It is that argument that Glucklich spends the first 273 pages exploring, and this huge chunk of book was to me boring, confusing, over-detailed with obscure references, and not persuasively stated.

I do not know if Harper Collins, the publisher, assigned a great editor to the professor, who then ignored his or her advice, or if the editor was incompetent or far too timid, but the work to me is just about fatally flawed. As another reviewer, Monica, stated, those last dozen pages should have come first, and then the argument to justify his opinions could have been made. The marketing people, who probably named the book and created the cover blurb, caught my attention on the new book shelf at my public library, and that's why I brought "Dying for Heaven" home three weeks ago. Sadly, I had to force myself to keep plugging away in here, hoping that the book represented on the dust jacket was actually between these covers somewhere. One-third of the way through, Glucklich comments "the reader may be forgiven for feeling a little bit lost." Wow, does that sentence capture the wrong-headed arrogance of the author. IT WAS HIS JOB TO AVOID LOSING THE READER. DUH. I have trouble forgiving a writer who's blaming me for not getting his point.

The professor gets annoying in another way as well. He keeps telling us what he is about to prove, or about to connect, but his next chapter "proofs" and "connections" are not stated in a style that persuades me. Somewhere around page 130, he quotes another writer as saying "The biggest challenge is the reader's boredom." Duh, again. Where was the editor, who should have jumped all over the author and told him "You are right. And you are guilty. This topic is about life, death, murder, and the hope of heaven. If you can't make that stuff fascinating, hire a ghost writer"? Page 134 was pretty well-done, but then we quickly sink back into the ancient history of religious rituals thousands of years ago in excruciating detail better suited to a doctoral thesis. I believe the author has great knowledge in his field, and good intentions, and may have a valid point about how to reduce the terrorism problem. He just isn't a compelling teller of the tale.

A Timely Book
By IndianTwilight
This is a must-read for policy makers in the West. In the forever quest to down-play religion as a cause of problem in issues of global affairs, there is a tendency to ignore what animates most people on this earth...their faith in God. To over-simplify acts of terrorism (carried out in the name of God) as resultant due, only to socio-economic reasons or loss of cultural identity (in the post-colonial frame-work) will prove extremely tactless. However, more books have been written to either victimize or criminalize adherents of a faith who take up arms or lay down their lives in the name of God. This book provides an insight into the world of "heart" as that is where faith and God reside. And, in the name of faith or God, from the heart, emanates love for both acts, compassion and crime.
